June is nearly on us...

Well, here we are with another week underway. I can’t believe it’s nearly June! It feels to me that we should still be in March. There you go. I am behind the times (again).

On that note, I am reading a great book at the moment called "Christianity Rediscovered" which was all the rave about fifteen years ago. It’s written by a catholic priest who went to work amongst the Masai Mara tribe in Kenya in East Africa. Has anyone read it?

When I was twenty two I went to Kenya for a few months in between university and law school and came across the Masai and so reading this book has sent me back down memory lane.
(Actually, thinking about it, it is all coming back to me now: I met some Masai warriors at a wedding celebration. They partied on down by jumping up and down really really high over and over again for most of the night. Us tourists joined in for a while but couldn’t keep up with them which they found rather amusing).

That all seems ages ago now. Between you and me I can feel a mid life crisis coming on and so if I turn up at church with a leather jacket and an ear ring just keep a straight face and tell me I look great...

Welcome to my new blog

Having ridiculed bloggers for years (especially "blog Kingsley-Smith") here I am. I thought this may be a good way of keeping in touch with you and so we can see how it goes. I hope you have had a good week. Looking back over the week, I loved the church lunch (I opted for the Thai chicken soup) and so a big thank you to all of the team who did that especially Erin. Lovely brownies as well. I am trying to go on a bit of a health drive but it is not working so far!
Would love any comments on last week's Soak as well. I enjoyed the more chilled out vibe with a bit of space but I know that some people hate that. Wasn't that soundtrack annoying though of the traffic? It did my head in!
Watched the Da Vinci code on Tuesday night which I enjoyed more than I thought I was going to because the reviews were terrrible. Although it is an incredibly long film. Why are films getting longer and longer? (I had to get a baby sitter for two nights). Even so it was okay if a little laboured.
Hope you have a good weekend and that the rain stays away.
By the way we are trying to improve the lighting in the church. Particularly the evening service can be a bit stark and so we are trying to dim the effect a bit. Let me know what you think. Having said that we dont want to look like we are trying too hard so any feedback would be appreciated
Maybe see you Sunday
